Alessandro Melazzini was born in Sondrio (Italy) and graduated in political economy (Luigi Bocconi University Milan) and in philosophy (Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg).

After working as a freelance journalist, writer and translator, in 2010 he conceived, directed and produced his first documentary film. That was the start for Alpenway Media Production GmbH.

He is both an Italian and a German citizen and lives in Munich.

He often crosses the Alps, and that is why he called his company Alpenway, a name which is also a symbol of his constant wish to cross borders.

His films are distinguished for their extreme eclecticism, for example ranging from Ilona Staller's life story and deeds to the description of Cistercian art and spirituality.

For his achievements as an immigrant entrepreneur the city of Munich gave Alessandro the PhoenixPrize and the German Embassy in Italy presents him as a testimonial.
